In 1986, we realized that it was difficult if not impossible for individuals and their families, especially seniors, to participate in a traditional dental insurance plan where they could use their own dentist. Since there were few or no traditional individual dental insurance plans available at that time, we decided to search the nation for insurance companies who would fill our client’s needs. Today, we have the best individual dental plan available in the USA.

We believe that our clients should be able to choose any dentist in the USA. There are a few individual dental insurance plans out there but most are Dental Maintenance Organizations (DMO) or Managed Care Plans where you must choose a dentist off the organization's list of dentists. If you choose a dentist off a list, it means the dentist must agree to a standard fee for his or her services or give the insurance company a discount. Dentists, of course, do not like this third party intrusion into their "business". So as soon as their practice approaches full capacity, guess whose coverage they drop first? You got it, the patients who belong to the above-mentioned plans.

Every dentist embraces our traditional indemnity insurance plan because he knows he will be paid full fee for service.

Caution! Most dental plans offered are not insurance. Phone book yellow pages under the heading of “Dentist Service Plans” or “Dental Plans”, list many dental plans. Almost all the dental plans listed are not insurance. They are “discount plans”. A discount company forms a discount plan by recruiting a short list of dentists who need patients. Members must choose a dentist from this short list of dentists in their area (if any). The participating dentists agree to give a discount to members (like going to a department store and getting $20 off of a $100 sweater). The discount company pays the dentist nothing; you are the only one who pays the dentist. As soon at the dentist begins to fill his schedule with full paying patients he drops the discount plan.
